Dustbunny is a cozy, mental health-focused game where players grow virtual plants to explore emotional self-care. Starting in an empty room inhabited by shy, dust-like creatures known as Emotibuns, players capture these creatures to express hidden emotions and grow them into unique, collectible plants. The gameplay involves Care Cards—symbols of real-life self-care practices like watering and observing—to promote reflection and emotional growth. As plants flourish, so does your room, transforming into a cozy, comforting sanctuary that mirrors your personal journey, filled with plants and nostalgic objects that resonate with your inner child. The game has a vibrant community on Discord, and the recent "Doors" feature enhances this by allowing players to visit and compliment each other's rooms, fostering positive connections and collective healing.

CATCH YOUR REPRESSED EMOTIONS
Dustbunny begins in a quiet, empty room inhabited by shy, dust-like creatures known as Emotibuns. These creatures, disguised as unassuming dust bunnies, come from your repressed emotions such as sadness, anger, anxiety, loneliness, and emptiness. The core of the game revolves around capturing these Emotibuns, allowing them to express their hidden feelings, and watching them transform into vibrant, unique plants. As you nurture these plants using Care Cards—such as Water, Mist, Feed, and Observe—you’ll gain insights and wisdom about emotional well-being and self-care.
NURTURE PLANTS & NURTURE YOURSELF
What's your love language? Using over 20 Care Cards, you can do basic things like watering and catching pests, and more advanced actions like touching and singing to your plant. The cards are symbolic tools that mirror real-life self-care practices: watering a plant might remind you of the importance of giving oneself time and space to grow, while observing a plant might encourage mindfulness and self-awareness. As you collect Care Cards to care for your plants, we hope to remind you to do so for yourself too.
COLLECT RARE PLANTS
Each Emotibun sprouts into a unique plant species - it could be a common plant or the rarest unicorn plant. You'll be challenged to collect all the plants in the Plant Index, each with its own interesting narrative. Advanced players can also unlock abilities to create unique hybrid plants.
BEFRIEND EMPATHY
You will be guided by Empathy, a friendly bunny with wings! Empathy will give you daily affirmations every morning, and stop by your room to look at your plants or to share some wisdom about emotions and self-love.
AWAKEN YOUR INNER CHILD
Play minigames with cute, nostalgic objects in your room like Bubble Tea, Cup Ramyun, and Gameboi. Some objects will you relax, while some will make you hold your breath! As your collection of plants grows, so does your room—a personal sanctuary where each plant and nostalgic item reflects your inner journey. The room, initially sparse, gradually transforms into a cozy, comforting space filled with items that resonate with your inner child.
COMPLETE YOUR NARRATIVE
Uncover the central storyline behind the room and each of the five emotions as you progress. You'll find yourself looking within to meet your inner child.
